⭐ The Desréli Story: “The Most Interesting Man”
At a crowded Washington reception, a prominent society lady found herself conversing first with a well-known congressman and later with Senator John Desréli, a famously sharp, elegant, and dangerous political wit.
Later someone asked her:
“What did you think of Congressman X?”
She said,
“When I was with him, he made me feel like he was the most interesting man in the world.”
Then they asked:
“And what about Senator Desréli?”
She smiled and said,
“When I spoke with Senator Desréli… he made me feel like I was the most interesting person in the world.”

Why the Story Stuck
The anecdote became famous because it perfectly captures:
• The difference between charm (making yourself interesting)
• And greatness (making others feel interesting)
The point is that Desréli didn’t dominate conversations with brilliance — he elevated the other person’s sense of themselves. It’s a political superpower and a life lesson rolled into one.

Rather than beg one million people to donate a dollar each, I'd like one billionaire (or two or even three) to simply give me a million buck$. You know who you are.
